Francuski fizyk. W 1903 roku otrzymał (wspólnie z małżonką Marią Skłodowską-Curie i Henri Antoine Becquerelem) nagrodę Nobla z fizyki za badania odkrytego przez Becquerela zjawiska promieniotwórczości. Wspólnie z żoną odkrył pierwiastki promieniotwórcze polon i rad i badał ich własności. Zajmował się również fizyką kryształów w 1880 roku odkrył zjawisko piezoelektryczności w krysztale kwarcu.
